Special Coaching Pilot for Entrepreneurs

Les will be offering a special pilot of 50-minute coaching sessions for rising entrepreneurs at Columbia. Each session is entirely confidential and will be a space for members to unpack something they wish to develop in their entrepreneurial objectives. Les combines his training in creativity and experience in global business to create a unique space for innovative thinking.

Les Joynes, PhD, MBA

A Leadership Coach at Columbia Business School, Les has coached 100+ MBAs and EMBAs from 30 countries. He coaches innovators and pioneers in Venture Capital, Technology, Healthcare, Managment Consulting and Diplomacy. He recently initiates the first coaching program to PhDs at University of Melbourne, and is a Gold Award Mentor at Goldsmiths, University of London.

At Columbia University he is researching the impact of coaching on leaders in innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital in the US and overseas. Les is a New York University certified coach, professionally credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Les is visiting faculty at Renmin University and Peking University’s Institute for Cultural Industries.

Les possesses an M.Sc in Managment from Boston University and the Vrije Universiteit Brussels Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, MBA from California State University; MA from Goldsmiths University of London; and MA from Musashino Art University, Tokyo. With a focus on creativity, he completed his PhD in the Faculty of Art, Environment and Technology, Leeds Metropolitan University, UK and Post-Doctorate at University of São Paulo, Brazil. A former member of CEO, Les has served on consulting projects with MBAs through the Lang Center for Entrepreneurship.

Les is a 2022 Fulbright Senior Scholar to India. Recent publications New Institutional Models: China’s Cultural Landscape by Mid-Century (2018), Long Museum, Shanghai, He serves on the Editorial Board for ProjectAnywhere, a journal at University of Melbourne, Australia.
